Hi! I am Aline, the owner and photographer of Aline Stern Photography. I am a one-woman show. Sometimes I have an assistant but I will take all of your pictures. My favorite part of the job is building relationships with my clients and most of them come back to me every year. I get to capture their newborns, their first birthdays, their yearly family pictures, mom and dad’s work headshots. I see these kids get older and the families grow and I love it. You are important to me.
I was born and raised in Vienna, Austria and lived for a time in the Netherlands, where I met my midwestern husband. We moved to Chicago in 2008. Since then we have had two amazing kids, who (not always willingly) are my favorite little models. I knew I wanted to be a photographer when I was 13 years old and I took my first class at the local community college when I was 14. I haven’t stopped learning since. It’s my goal to always improve. I’ve been fortunate to have classes and mentorships with some of the best photographers in America and still continue to do so whenever I get a chance. My goal is to capture the soul, true emotions and real moments. I know getting your picture taken can be stressful but I try my best to make it fun and easy for you!
When I am not taking pictures I like to make music at Old Town School of Folk Music, bake my own sourdough bread, and look at interior design websites, imagining I could be a Scandinavian minimalist.
